Off Season Expectations for all players:

The coaching staff encourages all basketball players to participate in other sports during the school year. We believe that it is important to compete in different arenas. If players are not participating in other sports, they are expected to participate in our fall and spring strength and conditioning program. With that said we encourage all athletes to participate in activities during the summer that will better themselves as an athlete. This may include moderation and the ability to balance multiple sports. During the summer, Spartan Basketball asks players to participate in the week of team camp and a few basketball tournaments. These dates are scheduled in May and will be posted on the team app. We also want athletes to improve themselves by participating in an off season strength and agility program. The athletes that participate have increased their strength, speed, and agility over those 8 to 10 weeks. This program is also in place for the safety of your athletes. By lifting weights, stretching, and working on agility drills daily athletes prepare themselves for the upcoming basketball season. We have found that lifting keeps muscle pulls at a minimum, makes players stronger at the end of the season, and prepares the athlete for competition.
